SUMMER 2015 BRINGS BUCKINGHAM ROAD WARRIORS BACK ON THE ROAD

Does this look crazy or what? It is known as a triple tow and considered legal if you are under 72 feet in most states. JR says," Driving it is a piece of cake and hook ups are no big deal." I, Christa, nod my head and say, "Okay, whatever, if you say so mister. Just keep us safe on the roads and disconnect as needed. I'll gladly drive the Jeep if the occasion calls for it.” Really, like who wants to triple tow on curvy, high Rocky Mountain roads? Believe it or not , JR has it on his bucket list all the way from California to Idaho, Montana, the Dakotas, Colorado,  New Mexico, and the California High Sierras,  Here we come so let the good times roll. Our next horizon of new adventures has begun. Hang on and bring it on!

WELCOME TO IDAHO ….

Actually we left home on July 19th and headed for the vast unspoiled wilderness areas of Idaho as our first destination for this trip. The clean air and peaceful solitude of the state here indeed provides a nice diversion and refuge from urban pollution, traffic congestion, and everyday stress. The pace of living feels much simpler and less complex outside of California and adventure seems to beckon us the minute the sunrises in the mornings. The countryside is full of lush green meadows and grassland, forests, mountain terrain, rivers and streams.

I found a hot spot for Wi-Fi access off Dennis friend’s modem. I was a happy camper viewing the Idaho open countryside and surrounding mountains  from the motor home ,writing, blogging,  and planning destination stops ahead for the coming months.

Greg took me out for a ride in his ATV off-road terrain RZR 800 through the back woods I donned a helmet for safety as we enjoyed a bumpy ride over  dirt trails mud potholes in the forest., over a river bank drop down onto a gravel bar and out into the Little Payette River. I had a chance to drive the ATV quad myself for the first time and it was a hoot.  Something everyone should add to their bucket list.

We celebrated Dennis’s birthday with the famous secret Buckingham family recipe Chicken and Homemade Noodles. JR was seen proudly turning out  homemade egg noodles like his mother used to make. Sawtooth National Recreation Area amongst its serrated, jagged peaks finds us camped four nights and three days at Redfish Lake. Poor planning as JR says this piece of paradise deserves at least a week.

We did a side excursion in the Jeep to explore the old Yankee Fork Gold Dredge and checked out a thermal hot spring in the river.

Putting the dory in beautiful Redfish Lake has been another idyllic spot. JR gave me an anniversary row and afterwards had a good sail out on the lake by himself.
