EXPLORING THE WONDER OF ENGLAND'S LAKE DISTRICT REGION

EXPLORING THE WONDER OF ENGLAND'S LAKE DISTRICT REGION

May 28, 2016
If you haven't yet been to the English Lake District get a move on!!!! It's the most beautiful place on Earth especially the area of Derwentwater. Early June was upon us crossing from Scotland through the Scottish Borders and into the heart of the Lake District of England.

A B&B stone cottage with a lovely garden provided us a good central base camp at Windermere.

We spent two days around the area with a lovely drive around Coniston River and experienced the amazing world of Beatrix Potter as we saw Bowness and Grasmere, visited Hill Top to see her home and the region
which inspired her love of nature,
writings   and illustrations. She never had children and donated all her wealth and estate properties to the National Trust for the conservation of the Lake District.

Rolling along English lush green mountain hills and countryside lakes with wild flowers flourishing, walking foot paths, highland and belted cows, wild pheasants, boats, and meandering through one man’s incredible hillside garden was truly scenic and the best of nature.
The only regret was not having planned more time to stay and hike amongst the region to explore its three mountain passes and all the ten beautiful lakes of the district. It is a lovely destination away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life to spend a holiday.
