Greetings from Vermont and the Green Mountains

If you could see all our tentative routes marked on this state’s map you’d laugh. We could stay on here for a year and still not catch all there is to do. Our primary focus has been taking day excursion drives to catch the fall colors, countryside, and mountains. Vermont is still very much an enclave of unspoiled wilderness with thick forests blanketing the rolling hills and the valley lowlands. The pastoral landscape, dotted with pristine villages and covered bridges, evokes the idealized images found in paintings by longtime resident Norman Rockwell. The American flag, ”Old Glory” decorates many a front porch here. The countryside is replete with manicured farms where the state’s trademark black and white Holstein cattle graze against a backdrop of natural green beauty. Visiting the Ben and Jerry Ice Cream Factory was great fun.It never dawned on us until now why cows are on all those B&J ice cream pint cups. The state has an anti-billboard law which ensures that the countryside is not blighted by obtrusive advertisements. Being organic and environmentally conscience is highly promoted here. One can’t help but be an outdoor enthusiast with some of the best hiking, boating, fishing, and camping in the country surrounding them. We’ve had a few days of rain put have planned around the weather as not to damper our days.
Rains have taken lots of leaves off

Stowe Mt. Ski Resort
Stowe is basically a mountain ski resort destination for the Northeast What has made Vermont so special this time of year is the variety of colors the trees manifest, from the palest mustard to flaming scarlet. Here are some candids traveling along the roads of Vermont we’ve been able to catch. Enjoy and have a great day.
